A patient with follicular lymphoma underwent computed tomography, which showed enlarged lymph nodes and a small soft tissue mass in front of the lower part of the trachea raising the suspicion of thyroid or parathyroid adenoma. A dual-phase single-photon emission computed tomography technetium-99m methoxyisobutyl-isonitrile washout scan confirmed a parathyroid adenoma. However, the enlarged lymph nodes involved with the lymphoma did not have increased uptake of technetium-99m methoxy-isobutyl-isonitrile.
