Colonic Perforation from an Ingested Toothpick

Foreign body ingestion is not uncommon but the majority of foreign objects ingested traverse the gastrointestinal tract without complications. We report a case of retroperitoneal abscess in a 38-year-old man following perforation of the colon by an ingested toothpick.
